Mr. Samuel Boyd “Sam” Summerour, 66, of Lancaster passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at his home. He was born October 20, 1948 in Delongia, Georgia, a son of the late Henry Summerour and Mattie Gurley Summerour. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was always willing to help people and you could always depend on him to help in any way. He loved to play music with the lead guitar. He loved fishing and wood working. He drove a truck for 35 years and will truly be missed. He was a Christian and loved the lord.The family is hosting a service to celebrate the life of Mr. Summerour on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 2:00 at 217 Doster Road, the “Music Room” Lancaster.Mr. Summerour is survived by his significant other, Flora McManus; two daughters, Stacy Summerour of Charlotte and Kimberly Jean Shannon and her husband Ken of Mt. Holly; a sister, Annie Foster of Louisburg, NC; and a grandson, Asa Ephraim. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Lee Wright.The family will receive friends at Sam’s home 2491 Old Camden Monroe Hwy. Lancaster anytime.

I knew Sam when we were all younger; in the late 60's in the 1970's. Sam was a special guy. I remember him as being very humble and kind of shy, but the one thing I will always remember about him was the sweet sweet smile that he always had on his face. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
