Sammy Lee Moree

Mr. Sammy Lee Moree, 67 of Heath Springs passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born November 30, 1947 in Jefferson, a son of the late Minnie Moree. Mr. Moree was a man who had multiple interests. He loved being with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Moree was a professional truck driver who loved to log miles. Mr. Moree was known to his trucker friends by the handle the "Southern Gentleman". He enjoyed listening to gospel and country music and also liked to work in his garden. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Moree will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 2 pm at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Norman Dobson and Emmie Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mr. Moree is survived by his wife, Anita B. Moree of Heath Springs; three sons, Samuel Alton Moree and his wife Christal of Lancaster, John Moree and Jason R. Moree and his wife Kendra all of Charlotte; a daughter, Leighann Moree of Statesville; two sisters, Shirley Barrs of Lancaster and Jean Greene of Fayetteville, NC; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Davis. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Lancaster Funeral Home.
