Dr. Ronald Harold James, 79, of Lancaster, widower of Mona Kay Romer James, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at his home. He was born August 4, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia, a son of the late William Harold James and Kate Watson James. Dr. James led an active life. He graduated from Brown Community High School and attended Georgia Military Academy and Georgia State University. After graduation, he served our country in the U.S. Navy. After his years of service, Dr. James attended and graduated from Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. and Mrs. James moved to Lancaster in 1962 where he practiced until his retirement. He was very active in sports, playing industrial league soft ball and golf. Dr. James was also very civic minded. He was a Mason and a Shriner, a member of Lancaster Golf Club as well as a member of the Chiropractic Association of South Carolina.A service to celebrate the life of Dr. James will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat McCain officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Dr. James is survived by a son, Ronald Scott James of Lancaster; a daughter, Kim James Ennis and her husband Rick of Lancaster; a son in law, Steven L. Cole of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Haley Cole Mills and her husband Heath, Evan M. Kirkley, Katie S. Kirkley, Christopher S. James, William R. James, Kylie M. James; and three great grandchildren, Gabriel D. Mills, Zoe A. Mills, and Callan C. Mills.
