Miss Odessa Cora Green, 85, of Kershaw passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her home. She was born November 3, 1929 in Jefferson, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Green and Eva Wright Green.A service to celebrate the life of Miss Green will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 am at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Stokes and Rev. Mike Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.Miss Green is survived by three daughters, Eva Stover of Heath Springs and her husband Rondall, Jackie Vasquez of Kershaw and her husband Jorge, and Brenda Baker and her husband Phillip of Heath Springs; and five grandchildren, Jason and Ethan Stover, Rosa Guerra, Alex and Briana Vasquez; and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew Green and John Amos Green; and four sisters, Loretta Green, Mae G. Munn, Almetta Phillips and Bessie Hamilton.Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 3334 Providence Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at Providence Baptist Church.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Miss Green.

I worked with Odessa almost thirty years ago at Springs, Although we are not closely related, the family bond was very important to her. She told me many times she loved me and wished me great success. I love Odessa. I am saddened to hear of her passing and pray for comfort of the family members. We have surely lost another Saint.
