Mrs. Myrtle Marshall Hagins, 97, of Lancaster, widow of Joseph Jesse Hagins passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born February 1, 1918 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Samuel Robert Marshall and Cora Lee Baker Marshall. Mrs. Hagins was the oldest living member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and had retired from Springs Industries.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hagins will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 3:00 pm at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill McCown and Rev. Rod Yow officiating. Burial will be in the St. Luke United Methodist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Hagins is survived by a son, J. Lawrence Hagins of Lancaster; two daughters, Jo Ann Crenshaw of Camden and Linda Hammond and her husband Jerry of Lancaster; a brother, Sammy Marshall of Lancaster; four sisters, Ida Mae Ellis of Heath Springs, Elizabeth Harper of Lancaster; Gladys Moore of Aiken and Sara Griffin and her husband Jack of Fort Mill; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George Marshall, Frank Marshall, and Boyce Marshall; and two sisters, Kathleen Harper and Robbie White.The family will receive friends following the committal services at the church and other times at the home of Linda and Jerry Hammond, 670 South Potter Road, Lancaster.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720. Or to Rich Hill Baptist Church, 1557 East Doc Garris Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Hagins.
