Mildred Vick Hinson

Mrs. Mildred Vick Hinson, 86, of Lancaster passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016. She was born August 4, 1929 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Algre Mangum Vick and Ada Therrell Vick and was the widow of Marshall Eugene Hinson. Mrs. Hinson was a member of The First United Methodist Church where she had taught the Adult Fellowship Class. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A Registered Nurse for fifty two years, Mrs. Hinson had worked at Springs Memorial Hospital and White Oak Manor.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hinson will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles A. Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mrs. Hinson is survived by a daughter in law, Elaine A. Reese of Lancaster; two brothers, Robert M. Vick of Lancaster and Edward M. Vick and his wife Ann of Morristown, Tennessee; and two sisters in law, Diana Vick and Mary Vick both of Rock Hill. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by a son, Don Reese; two brothers, James Vick and Tommy Vick; and a sister, Elfreda Knight.The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Chapel Class of First United Methodist Church and other times at the home of Elaine Reese.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 608, Lancaster, SC 29721 or to American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Hinson.Read Obituary
