Mary Lou Hegler Young

Mrs. Mary Lou Hegler Young, 92, of Lancaster passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born November 15, 1921 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Clyde Columbus Hegler and Mary Ida Steele Hegler and was the wife of Robert Albertus Young, Sr. Mrs. Young was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Springs Industries after 40 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.She enjoyed working in her garden, traveling, sewing, cooking and baking was her annual Christmas Gifts to her family and friends and reading her Bible.A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Young will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 3 pm from the graveside with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman officiating. Burial will be in the West Side Cemetery.Mrs. Young is survived by a son, Robert Albertus Young, Jr. of Columbia; two daughters, Acelia Sue Young Vaughn and her husband Wylie of Lancaster and Mary Lynn Young Farr and her husband James of Woodstock, GA; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Young.Read Obituary
