Mrs. Margaret Kate Burris, 75, of Lancaster passed away Friday, April 13, 2018. She was born August 21, 1942 in Kershaw, a daughter of the late Raymond Truesdale and Martha Jane Mangum Poston and her husband Willie. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was of the Baptist faith and a foster mother to many children for over 25 years. She loved her nieces and nephews and was especially proud of her great-grandson, Corporal Daniel Sistar of the United States Marine Corp. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Burris will be private. Mrs. Burris is survived by a son, Robbie Gilmer and his wife Audrey of Albemarle, NC; two daughters, Kathy McDaniel and her husband Ken of Rock Hill and Laura Beth of Lancaster; a brother Raymond Truesdale and his wife Jan of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Sandra Williams and her husband Theron of Kershaw and Judy Talbert and her husband Jackie of Kershaw; eight grandchildren, Melissa Carlisle, Brandy Betancourt, Mikey McDaniel, Shona Kelly, Kristen Lambeth, Kelsey Lee, Kacie Lee and Lisa Houser; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel Sistar, Tyler Sistar, Kailynne McDaniel, Raimee McDaniel, Bentley McDaniel, Riley Kate Betancourt and Taylor and Patrick Bedwell. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home, and other times at her home. So very sorry to learn of Ms Margaret's passing. Always enjoyed taking care of her at Walgreen's. Precious lady and one of the Lord's angerls on this earth. Praying for your family
To the family my heart breaks for you all, Ms Kate was so special and she had such a loving heart. I will truly miss her and knw you all will too.
