Lloyd Dubose Cox

Mr. Lloyd Dubose Cox, 69, of Lancaster passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at his home. He was born October 2, 1944 in Lancaster, a son of the late Dock Ernest Cox and Mary Dubose Davis Cox Ackerman. Mr. Cox was a devoted family man who loved the Lord. He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and also served as a Deacon. In addition, Mr. Cox was an active Mason and member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #153.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Cox will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Sherwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Rusty McAlister, Rev. Steve Anglin, and Rev. R.B. Ashley officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Cox is survived by his wife Betty Jean Usher Cox of Lancaster; two sons, Richard Dubose Cox and his fiancé Nikki of Lancaster and Michael L. Cox and his wife Christi of Rock Hill; a brother, Ernest Cox, Jr. of Lancaster; two sisters, Brenda Cauthen and Pam Harger and her husband Jeff all of Lancaster; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2254 Dome Lane, Lancaster.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Cox.Read Obituary
