Linda Johnson Powers

Mrs. Linda Johnson Powers, 67, of Lancaster, widow of James D. “Jim” Powers, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at CMC-Main. She was born May 10, 1948 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Johnson and Louise Lilly Dover Johnson. Mrs. Powers was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Powers loved to play word search, she loved being outdoors watching birds and spending time with her family.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Powers will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 3 pm from the graveside with the Rev. Jackie Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Powers is survived by three sons, Lindsay Powers and his wife Nancy, Joel Powers and his wife Amy and Donnie Powers and his special friend, Jackie Garner all of Lancaster; three sisters, Patricia Baker and her husband Connie of Gastonia, Jean Strunk and her husband Gary of Rock Hill and Debbie Horne and her husband Ricky of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Robbie Powers of Lancaster, Paige Powers of Florida and Erica Powers of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Johnson.The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home, 1074 Cody Street, Lancaster, SC.Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Powers.Read Obituary
