MR. JOE LAWTON BLACKWELL Fort Lawn Mr. Joe Lawton Blackwell, 78, of Fort Lawn passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born in Chesterfield, August 2, 1939, a son of the late Lawton and Ellen Poston Blackwell and was the widower of Cora Lee Brasington Blackwell.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Blackwell will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 3 pm at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chase Catledge officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Blackwell is survived by his a daughter Lisa B. Teetor and her husband Brian of Fort Lawn; two brothers, Mike Blackwell of Lancaster, and Marion Blackwell of Chester; two sisters Janie Nix of Lexington, and Betty Singletary of Orangeburg; five grandchildren Brian Lindsey, Jason Lindsey, Melissa Lindsey, Amanda Teetor, and Michael Teetor; and five great-grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Alexis Lindsey, Jason T. Lindsey, Julieanna Lindsey, and Taylor Murray. In addition to his wife and parents Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by a son Tony Blackwell, a daughter Joanne Lindsey, brothers Jessie Blackwell, Jerry Blackwell, Johnny Blackwell, Marvin Blackwell, and Vernon Blackwell; and a sister Evelyn Johnson. I'm so sorry you loss your father! Praying for you and the family! Joe was a wonderful person he was always nice and kind to me and everyone he was around I remember the times when we all would come down and set around the table and talk that was the good old days.
