Jerry Edward Robinson

Mr. Jerry Edward Robinson, 77, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 22, 1941 in Lancaster, a son of the late Fred J. Robinson and Lola Truesdale Gaskins Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a member of Second Baptist Church and was a US Navy Veteran. He retired from Springs Industries Grace Bleachery after forty years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School where he was a member of the 1959 State High School Championship Football Team and he graduated from the University of South Carolina.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Robinson will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Brian Saxon officiating. A private entombment will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sarah Threatt Robinson; two sons, Jeffrey Scott Robinson and his wife Diane of Cornelius, NC and Timothy Ryan Robinson and his wife Shelley of Fort Mill; three grandchildren, Emilia Robinson, Nora Robinson and Augustus Robinson; two brothers, Jimmy Robinson of Lancaster and Randy Robinson of Wilson, NC; and two sisters, Sue Tillman and her husband Billy and Cherry Hendley and her husband Charles all of Lancaster.The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Second Baptist Church and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, 1426 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
