Mr. James Samuel “Sammy” Chamberlain, 78, of Lancaster passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born January 2, 1936 in Edgefield, a son of the late Charles Norton Chamberlain and Clara Morgan Thomasson and stepson of the late James W. Thomasson. Mr. Chamberlain was a fifty year member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church, where he had served as a choir member, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, and had been a member of the Administrative Committee, Finance Committee, Building Committee, the Senior Citizens and had served in various other capacities.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Chamberlain will be held Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Camp Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Catoe officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Chamberlain is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Carolyn Blalock Chamberlain, a son, James Gregory “Greg” Chamberlain of Charlotte; a sister, Jane T. Morgan and her husband Ted of West Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
