Mr. James Samuel “Sammy” Chamberlain, 78, of Lancaster passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born January 2, 1936 in Edgefield, a son of the late Charles Norton Chamberlain and Clara Morgan Thomasson and stepson of the late James W. Thomasson. Mr. Chamberlain was a fifty year member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church, where he had served as a choir member, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, and had been a member of the Administrative Committee, Finance Committee, Building Committee, the Senior Citizens and had served in various other capacities.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Chamberlain will be held Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Camp Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Catoe officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Chamberlain is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Carolyn Blalock Chamberlain, a son, James Gregory “Greg” Chamberlain of Charlotte; a sister, Jane T. Morgan and her husband Ted of West Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Norton Chamberlain and a step brother, Ronald Thomasson.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Beulah Broughton, 3114 Oakland Drive, Lancaster.Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Creek United Methodist Church, 4721 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720,Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Chamberlain.

Let god wipe away your tears .when Sammy went to heaven god said welcome home my good & faithful savior. He is watching over all of us & we will see him again. You all are in my thoughts& prayers.

Carolyn &family I am sorry to hear about Sammy , he was a sweet man & a good christian . He will be greatly missed. I was blessed to both of you. Carolyn & family remember Sammy is looking down from heaven keeping & eye on all of us.we will see him again. I know when he got to heaven god said welcome home my son we have been waiting on you.
