Mr. James Allen Morgan, 62, of Lancaster, widower of Patricia S. Morgan, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 at his home. He was born February 14, 1952 in Lancaster, a son of the late Aleck Morgan and Neelie Boone Morgan. Mr. Morgan was employed by Duracell as a machine mechanic. He also proudly served our country as a member of the National Guard and retired after 20 years of service.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Morgan will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2 pm at High Point Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Moseley and Rev. Howard Messer officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Morgan is survived by a son, Jeffrey Allen Morgan and his wife, Mandy of Lancaster; two daughters, Cindy James and her husband, Tommy of Lancaster and Denise Keener and her husband, John of Edgemoor. After the death of his brother in law, Shelton, he and his late wife raised Shelton’s two children, Elizabeth Stevens and Frank Stevens, Jr. as if they were their own children. In addition, he is survived by a brother, Eric Morgan of Lancaster; four sisters, Elaine Bell and her husband Schuyler, Vera Bryson and her husband Wayne, Rita Taylor and Tammie Lanoue all of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Trisha Moore, Jonathan Moore, Riley James, Ryan James, Alden Morgan, Cheyenne Sims, Bella Sims, Branson Sims and Autumn Sims. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Bailey and a brother, Jerry Morgan.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1803 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 901 West Meeting Street, Suite 201, Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Morgan.
