James Bruce "Jimmy" Ballard Jr.

Mr. James Bruce “Jimmy” Ballard, Jr., 73, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born February 28, 1944 in Lancaster, a son of the late James Bruce Ballard, Sr. and Doris Hinson Ballard. Mr. Ballard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He retired from Dabney Appliance and Lancaster Police Department. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, he loved to cook and take care of everyone.A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jimmy will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2 pm at Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitch Ingram and Rev. Todd Robinson officiating. Mr. Ballard is survived by his wife, Patricia Hunter Ballard of Lancaster; two daughters, Jamie Rivers and Sherri Morris both of Lancaster; a brother, Hugh White of Lancaster; two sisters, Mary Williams and Michelle Steele both of Lancaster; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Pope.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at his home.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Ballard.Read Obituary
