Hite Adams

Mr. Hite Adams, 90, of Lancaster passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at Morningside Assisted Living. He was born March 22, 1926 in Kershaw, a son of the late Minor Jackson Adams and Estelle Hinson Adams. Mr. Adams was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries Lancaster Plant. He was a former member of Wings of Carolina Camping Club. Mr. Adams also served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was with the Occupation Forces in Japan at the conclusion of the war.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Adams will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 11 am at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 69 years, Pearlie Watts Adams of Lancaster; a daughter, Judy C. Adams of Lancaster; a son, R. Earl Adams and his wife Cyndy of Lancaster; two granddaughters, Alison A. Walters and her husband Michael and Anna A. Plyler and her husband Garrett; and five great-grandchildren, McKibben Walters, Shelton Walters, Candler Walters, Caroline Plyler and Ella Cate Plyler. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Reedy Adams, Hubert Adams and Robert Adams; and five sisters, Ada Robinson, Dessie Hartley, Eva Hartley, Bernice Adams and Lillie Sims.The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Earl and Cyndy.Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1152 Great Falls Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Adams.Read Obituary
