Guy Carlton Watterson

Mr. Guy Carlton Watterson, 78, of Lancaster passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital. He was born July 21, 1938 in Waxhaw, a son of the late William Watterson and Lena Barr Watterson. Mr. Watterson was a Veteran having served our country as an Airman in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. After receiving an honorable discharge, Mr. Watterson was employed by the Lancaster Telephone Company where he remained for the next 42 years until retirement. He was also the world’s greatest Atlanta Braves fan.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Watterson will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2 pm at Unity ARP Church with the Rev. Charles Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the Unity ARP Church Cemetery with Military Honors.Mr. Watterson is survived by his wife, Marilyn Baker Watterson of Lancaster; two daughters, Carla Watterson Campbell and her husband Jay of Charleston and Paula Watterson Peasley and her husband David of Lancaster; a brother, Robert Franklin Watterson and his wife Nancy of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Grandin and Kayce Campbell and Destiny and Gabe Peasley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rev.
