Emmett Leroy "Goody" Ellis

Mr. Emmett Leroy “Goody” Ellis, 82, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his home. He was born October 18, 1934 in Lancaster, a son of the late Roy Ross Ellis and Nettie Altman Ellis. Mr. Ellis attended New Cut Presbyterian Church. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, laughter, watching TV and singing with Rachel. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ellis will be held at a later date. Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Rachel G. Ellis of Lancaster; two sons, James Emmett Leroy Ellis and his wife Kathy of Lancaster and Cecil Thomas Ellis of Pamplico, SC; two step-daughters, April Hammonds of Kershaw and Sandra Wemes of Lancaster; a brother, James Russell Ellis and his wife Jenny of Lancaster; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four daughters, Debbie Jean Ellis, Joan Ellis, Jo Ann Ellis and Tina Ellis. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to one’s choice.
