Edward Vernon Mullis

Mr. Edward Vernon Mullis, 77, of Heath Springs, widower of Barbara Galloway Mullis, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born December 17, 1936 in Belmont, NC, a son of the late Thomas Franklin Mullis and Mandy Sue West Mullis. He attended Rich Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Mullis was a retired electrician and was a Mason and member of Lodge # 75, Union, SC and was a Shriner and member of Hejaz Shrine Temple. Mr. Mullis was a US Army Veteran.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Mullis will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 am at Rich Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Yow officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Mullis is survived by two sons, Thomas Mullis of Heath Springs and Todd Mullis and his wife Jessica of Summerville; three daughters, Teresa Hammond and her husband Roger of Heath Springs, Susan Plemons and her husband David of Matthews, NC, and Ginger Cranor and her husband Bobby of Indian Land; eleven grandchildren, Casey Stout and her husband Matt, Trevor Hammond, Drew Ake, Payton Ake, Emily Plemons, Austin Plemons, Kamdyn Mullis, Haylee Sue Mullis, Kaylah Cranor, Kierstin Cranor, and Caden Cranor; his mother in law, Willene Clayton of Lancaster; and sister in law, Vickie Baker of Lancaster.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1540 Billy Kirk Road, Heath Springs.Memorial contributions may be made to Rich Hill Baptist Church – Playground Fund, 1557 East Doc Garris Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Mullis.Read Obituary
