Mr. Donald Franklin Shook, 78, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville. He was born March 26, 1939 in Spartanburg, a son of the late Rev. Carl Franklin Shook and Hazel Grimsley Shook. Mr. Shook was a loving husband, father brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of High Point Free Will Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. He had served our state as a Wildlife Officer for thirty two years, retiring at the rank of Sargent.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Shook will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm at High Point Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. David Sellers officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mr. Shook is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Jenkins Shook; two sons, Franklin Todd Shook and his wife Donna of Columbia and Donald Gregory Shook of Lancaster; a daughter, Julie Shook Small of Lancaster; a sister, Patti Shook of Roebuck; five grandchildren, T. J. Shook, Bethany Small, Landon Small, Kellyn Shook and Robert Harman; and a great grandchild, Janson Small. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Norman Shook.The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to High Point Free Will Baptist Church, 2095 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Shook.Read Obituary
