Mr. Billy Michael Williams, 67, of Lancaster passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at his home. He was born July 25, 1947 in Lancaster, a son of the late Walter Colon Williams and Ruth Irene Plyler Williams. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. A US Army Vietnam Veteran, Mr. Williams was a Mason, and life member of Camp Creek Lodge # 317, where he had served as Past Master. He had worked with the City of Lancaster as a reserve police officer and was formerly a fireman with Camp Creek Fire Department. Mr. Williams had worked for Springs Industries. He had been a singer in many gospel groups. He was an avid motorcycle rider and a founding member of the Widows Sons Masonic Motorcycle Association. Mr. Williams was a pilot and was formerly FBO of Lancaster Airport. He enjoyed cooking.A service to celebrate the life of Williams will be held Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 3 pm at Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Burgess and Rev. Rob Hewitt officiating. Burial with Police Honors and Masonic Rites will be in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Ann P. Williams; a son, Billy Williams, Jr. of Lancaster; a daughter, Stacy W. East and her husband Joe of Mineral Springs, NC; a brother, Colon Williams, Jr. and his wife Mary of Lancaster; a sister, Myra Funderburk and her husband Max; and four grandchildren, Landon Williams, Joe East, II, Cameron East and Alyssa East.The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Zion United Methodist Church and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church – Building Fund, 1665 Zion Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. William.
