Mr. Billy Reece Crenshaw, 82, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born June 18, 1932 in Lancaster, a son of the late Luther McDuffie Crenshaw and Bertha Mae Brazzell Crenshaw. He was the owner/operator of Crenshaw & Sons Construction Company. Mr. Crenshaw was a member and elder at Oak Ridge A. R. P. Church. He was a US Army and National Guard Veteran. He was a member of the SC State Guard and was a SC State Constable. Billy was a Mason and member of Jackson Masonic Lodge # 53, and was a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple and the Jackson Shrine Club. He was an avid USC Gamecock fan and was a member of the Gamecock Club.A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Crenshaw will be held Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Oak Ridge A.R.P. Church with the Rev. Glenn Welsford officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Oak Ridge A.R.P. Church Cemetery.Mr. Crenshaw is survived by his wife, Jean Hinson Crenshaw of Lancaster; a son, Timothy S. Crenshaw, Sr. and his wife Yvonda M. Crenshaw of Lancaster; a son in law, Ira B. Small, III of Lancaster; a daughter in law, Jill B. Crenshaw of Lancaster; a brother, Wylie Jesse Crenshaw of Lancaster; a sister, Magdelene Phillips of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crenshaw was preceded in death by a son, David R. Crenshaw; a daughter, Sandra C. Small; six brothers, Layton E. Crenshaw, Roddy L Crenshaw, L. Gurley Crenshaw, Ray M. Crenshaw, Thomas E. Crenshaw and Windell D. Crenshaw; and a sister, Teresa Hinson.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 238 Providence Road, Lancaster.Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Ridge A. R. P. Church, David Crenshaw Fund, 2774 McIlwain Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Crenshaw.
