Mrs. Betty Jean Walters Marshall, 88, of Lancaster passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born December 31, 1928 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Arthur Walters and Virginia Taylor Walters. Mrs. Marshall was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Marshall will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2 pm at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill McCown officiating. Burial will be in the St. Luke United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Marshall is survived by her husband, William Lewis Marshall of Lancaster; two daughters, Patty Hilton and Kay Watson and her husband Bill all of Lancaster; her adopted daughter, Karen Roberts; three grandchildren, Brandi Knight and her husband, Chris, Amber Baker and her husband, Neil and Blaire Sturgis and her husband, Adam; seven great-grandchildren, Gabe Knight, Ginger Knight, Brenton Baker, Alex Baker, Railey Baker, Ty and Ambree Sturgis. She was preceded in death by a son, William Thomas Marshall; two brothers, Louie Walters and Charles Walters; and a sister, Jenny Bowers. The family will receive friends following the service at St. Luke United Methodist Church Leisure Ministry Center. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720. The family wishes to thank Lancaster Convalescent Center and Hospice of Lancaster for the special care given to Mrs. Marshall.
