Mrs. Barbara H. Privette, 80, of Lancaster passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born February 9, 1937 in Wilmington, a daughter of the late William Henry Hyatt and Mildred Stogner Hyatt. Mrs. Privette was a member of First Baptist Church in Lancaster. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School, attended Limestone College, and graduated from Winthrop College in 1959. She retired from Lancaster County School District, where she taught elementary school.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Privette will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2 pm at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Hatcher officiating. Burial will be private.Mrs. Privette is survived by her husband Byron Privette of Lancaster; three sons Rich Hough of Lancaster, Eric Hough and his wife Julie of York, and Jim Privette of Columbia; a daughter Josie Privette Morgan of Conway; a brother Johnny Hyatt and his wife Nancy of Lancaster; a sister Judy Rushing and her husband Sonny of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Erica McInvaille and her husband Spencer and Katie Terry and her husband James, all of Lancaster; and two great-grandchildren, Emmaleigh McInvaille and Walker Terry.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at First Baptist Church and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church P.O Box 670, Lancaster, SC 29720. Ms Barbara was a wonderful lady and teacher........She helped me help my daughter who was ADHD.......She and Johnny were a fixture at Wylie Park Playground when I was a lil girl ....My condolences to the family
